Back on shore, walking enthusiasts can explore a network of trails ranging in length and difficulty. Take in the stunning lake-dotted landscape as you discover the Canal Walk in Ballyconnell, forest walks in Killeshandra and the Castle Lake in Bailieborough, or meander along one of four marked ways in the atmospheric Dun a Rí Forest Park, Kingscourt.
If you’re keen to get stuck in, ODD Gamespark in Ballyconnell offers adrenaline-fuelled action by the bucketload! ODD (www.odd.ie) is the only Irish location for off-road buggies and solo hovercrafting; throw in woodland laser missions, dragster carts, clay pigeon shooting and powerturn team driving and you’ve got an instant recipe for high-octane family fun!
